Springing into Spring 2019! | Natasha Denona "Bloom Blush & Glow" Palette + YSL, Pat McGrath & Atelier Cologne

Spring 2019 is finally here and tons of new products have been revealed and are begging to join our collections. I've started off with a handful of products that I've been sitting on, waiting to put out into the world.

Natasha Denona "Bloom Blush & Glow" Palette

Natasha Denona always seems to come out with products that are not only gorgeous to look at but that also blow our minds. This Spring, we have a lovely quad consisting of one cream blush (top right pan), one cream highlighter (top left pan) and two powder highlighters (bottom two pans). The creams are separated by a handy plastic cover so you don't need to worry about the powder particles infecting the creams.

If you're not familiar with Natasha Denona products, they tend to seem more complicated than they actually are. Always use the product how YOU want to use it. Makeup is fun. Instructions are meant to provide guidance but always feel free to deviate outside the lines.

The Glow Cream Base I like to use as a light highlighter or a blush. I'm not sure why it's labeled as a "base" shade as I wouldn't apply it underneath anything, so I suspect it's meant to be a blush and then you layer a highlighter on top of it. Either way, it reminds me of NARS "Orgasm" and provides a perfect dewy flush to the cheeks.

The cream blush is extremely pigmented so tread lightly with this one. I find it best to apply sparingly to the apples of the cheeks and then blend outward, adding more product if needed. It also provides a dewy look.

The Glow Extreme highlighter reminds me of the Diamond highlighters in the two baby pink palettes Natasha Denona came out with last Spring. My first thought when swatching these is that it's like diamond particles glittering on top of a clear base. This one is very similar to that; you get neutral-golden glitter that adds sparkle. If you aren't a fan of a little glitter, you might not like this shade.

The Duo Glow highlighter is pinky-peach duo-chrome and reminds me of Urban Decay's Fireball or even NARS "Orgasm" but hyper pigmented. It's lovely, but also go in a little cautiously with this one at first.

*Natasha Denona is a cruelty free brand <3

Pat McGrath Lust Lip Gloss

Pat McGrath Labs added new shades to her Lust: Lip Gloss line. I picked up Wicked Whisper, Bronze Venus and Prima Donna.

Wicked Whisper: Warm rose with golden pearl
Bronze Venus: Bronze with pink micro-glitter
Prima Donna: Mid-tone cool pink

I didn't really see any pearls in Wicked Whisper so for all intents and purposes (and the fact that it's not in the "Shimmer" section on Sephora's website), this one seems to be more of a cream gloss to me (akin to Prima Donna).

There is definitely glitter in Bronze Venus (pink and silver). It doesn't feel gritty on the lips though.

Yves Saint Laurent Plumping Lip Balms and Holographic Eyeshadow Palette

Yves Saint Laurent got everyone in a tizzy over their Spring 2019 collection. The addition of the heart stamped on these new plumping lip balms was an adorable touch. I am a diehard fan of YSL's balmy lipstick products. They are so creamy and slippery I just adore them (and I own way too many of them!).

I picked up two of these Volupte Plump-in-Color Plumping Lip Balms.  1-Mad Nude (universal nude) and 4-Exposing Coral (true coral). If you like the brand's Tint-in-Oil lipsticks, you will love these just as much. That is, unless you're adverse to the mild tingling effect (for the plumping). If so, you may want to skip these. The plumping effect is pretty minimal though I wouldn't say it's completely non-existent.

But the real product that everyone went nuts over was the holographic eyeshadow palette that will satisfy the whimsical needs of all unicorn lovers. If you want an eyeshadow palette that will fulfill all your magical, designer, fairytale princess needs, this is the product for you.

I snatched this up as soon as it started popping up in stores online, and it may only be available on ebay or in other countries by now. I'm including it anyways as some people who missed out may want to do some stalking, or at least, see if you already have similar shades in your collection (the shades themselves aren't anything unique, it's just that the representation of them is fantastically pleasing to the eye).

The five leftmost shadows are basically glitter with a clear base. These feel a little gritty when swatching. I did find the pink/red shade to have a matching base (ie, not clear) so it applies more pigmented than the four on its left. You will probably want a glitter glue to use with the glitter shades. The pinky shade on the right side is more of a pigmented matte finish with some micro glitter and is smoother to the touch.

It comes with the standard little eyeshadow brush that I personally don't use but appreciate having all the same.

As you can see, the packaging is unicorn dreamland heaven., and is likely the main reason you were drawn into buying this palette in the first place. It feels heavy, designer quality as always with YSL, and looks simply magical.

Atelier Cologne in Pacific Lime

Likely more of a summer scent, I'm still super into this new addition to the line. I've become a huge fan of Atelier Cologne as their scents are ripe and rich and I like how all the 1oz bottles line up neatly on my counter.

I've become really into fruity, juicy scents and this one is packed with citrus. The lime overtone is quite strong so if you're not into tangy citrus scents, this will almost certainly be too intense for you. The scent does mellow out as the eucalyptus comes through and you'll be left craving to be poolside with an ice cold lime daquiri.

Thanks for reading <3
