Sephora VIB Rouge Fall 2017 Preview Event: The Products!

Sephora Fall 2017 Preview Event - Display 1
Good Morning Everyone!

I've recently returned from my local Sephora's Fall 2017 VIB Rouge Preview Event and wanted to post some pictures of the products that were showcased. This is not a review post but should rather be used to give you a sneak peak of upcoming products to be released as part of the Fall line.

I only picked up one product this time and that is the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Vol. III eyeshadow palette. I enjoy Vol. I & II quite a bit and the shades in Vol. III are absolutely suited for my skin tone and will go well with my red hair and blue-green eyes. If these features match yours (and even if they don't), you may also want to check this palette out. The quality seems to remain the same as Tarte's previous two palettes in this collection. I can only say so much as I've owned it for all of 12 minutes, but the shadows feel like those of their counterpart palettes.

If you're new to this collection, the eyeshadows have an almost wet feel. Not "wet" like a cream but almost like damp sand (but not gritty, that's a terrible comparison but the best I can think of). The shadows aren't powdery and don't product kick up, but are more "heavy" in feel. I swatched the shades first thing when I got home. There is one matte, the rest are satin shimmers and are perfect for Summer. I also like the packaging; for some reason the mermaid/fish scales just work for me here (but probably wouldn't for any other product).

The Too Faced Glitter Bomb Eyeshadow Collection palette is prettier in person than in most pictures I think. My pictures are a little dull so I apologize for that. I don't wear a whole ton of glitter, especially bright, fun shades like what this palette has to offer so this wasn't a product I picked up. If you're into these types of eyeshadows this would be a fun product to add to your collection. I do think a glitter glue of sorts will be required. I can't see these shades staying on too well without one. The other thing to note about this palette is that the royal blue (first letter "T") and the green (letter "R")  are not shades included in the actual palette. The "G", "L", "I", "T" and "R" shades are decent matches to what is included in the palette, and the shade "Work It" looks really pretty in person.

They also had a Kat Von D "Lolita" display which included the new "Lolita" blush, and a similar display for Urban Decay's "Gash" which included a new eyeshadow shade. Both of these new products look exceptionally pretty. I was particularly inclined to check out "Gash.

I didn't get an up close picture of the new Urban Decay "Go Naked Perfume Oil Rollerball" but I really liked the smell of this product. The description on Sephora.com says that this product smells like fruity florals, that they base notes carry hints of lavender, jasmine, and musk and that it should capture the "feeling of sun-warmed air and salt on a private beach". To me, this product doesn't exactly remind me of the beach but more of the dunes on the beach in Palm Springs on a sunny day while sipping a cool, fruity yet almost minty tea of sorts. I really enjoy the smell of this product; it is refreshing and exotic without being overwhelming.

Regarding the packaging, I did not have any trouble operating the rollerball and while the packaging itself does feel stable and closes/opens just fine, the description says it can be tucked easily in your purse, but I'm unsure if I would actually keep it there.

Buxom had a display for White Russian which included a special casing for the Full-On Lip Cream lipgloss (it has a plastic diamond on top of the cap and is super cute. You may not want this banging around in your purse though or it may snap off).

The Limited Edition "On The Rocks" eyeshadow palette I bought during the Spring Sale when it was in and out of stock all over the place. I enjoy this palette quite a bit; the packaging is fabulous (bonus that it's customizable so any Buxom eyeshadow single can be placed in this palette). The only shade I don't think is up-to-par id the dark purple on the far right (it looks brown in the picture but it's more of a purple to me). Like many purples of this variety, it's muddy, prone to fallout and appears a bit grey on the eyes. The other shades are lovely. I particularly love the white iridescent on the far left; it almost has a green/yellow iridescent shift. Super pretty. The other shades are also lovely. Swap out that far right shade for something else by Buxom and this is a great selection for a subtle yet fun look.

I've included some additional pictures of the palette below to help show the shade coloring and the casing better.

To be completely critical, the KVD "Lolita" and Urban Decay "Gash" displays were the only displays that felt "Fall" to me. There were no other burnt oranges or reds aside from these two displays which, to me at least, scream the Fall season. The Tarte palette feels more like Summer, which is just fine by me as it's only June 3, but most of the products present did not feel like they needed to be in the Fall line. I believe at the Holiday 2016 Preview Event last year a similar Buxom, White Russian display was present and they had the Full-On Lipcream in a specialty case as well (though I can't remember if it was the same as what is available here).  We will see what comes as we progress further into Summer and start preparing for Fall. This was, after all, only the preview =)

I love these events because it's something else to be excited about. And I love taking pictures of products and displays. I hope this post gives you an idea idea of what's coming to Sephora to help plan your purchases for this Fall season. If I can guess, these products will most likely be available to those who aren't Rouge before the end of the month.

Happy Shopping Everyone! #VIBRougeEvent
