Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

I finally bit the bullet on these when Stila released their 3 new iridescent shades of these liquid eye shadows. I've never really been into liquid eye shadow. Then again, I also used to think that blush was a boring makeup product and I now own over 30 single blush shades. So tastes clearly change. I bought 4 of these glittery girls (Rose Gold Retro, Ballet Baby, Sunset Cove and Sea Siren).

Rose Gold Retro is the best of the bunch as a standalone liquid eye shadow. You can use this as a base eye shadow; it's not sheer so you don't have to rely on it as a top coat only. I love to dash this over my lid to add a bit of sparkle or as a lower lash liner.

Ballet Baby is described as baby pink with silver sparkle. The pearly pink sheen is soft, but the sparkle gives it that extra something to make it really stand out. The glitter in this one looks more chunky on the eyes than the others (though I think the sparkle in the two new additions to the collection is more fine than those in the initial collection). You can use this girl as a top coat to add a little glitter and pink sheen to your look, or just dab onto your lid over the base coat of your eye shadow.

Sea Siren, one of the newest shades to the collection along with Sunset Cove, is a lovely pinky-purple-blue multi-toned mix of goodness. It does apply a bit on the sheer side, but if you've got a few extra minutes in your routine to let it dry and add a 2nd layer, the base color will come through a bit more. This one, like Sunset Cove, are better as top coats or if you want just a little pop of iridescent shimmer and sparkle.

Sunset Cove swatched oddly. As I dragged the brush across my inner forearm, the product stuck to itself so I had to apply a couple layers to get an even application where no skin was showing through. It wasn't as obvious when I applied on my lid though. This color, like Sea Siren, I use mostly as a top coat. It looks gorgeous over pink, rose gold, and reddish eye shadows. If you have the Anastasia Beverly Hills "Modern Renaissance" palette, or the new MAC Cosmetics Red Hot Times 9 palette, this girl looks stunning on top of the pinky-red shades.

Wear Time: These don't budge. As long as you don't scratch or rub your eye, they shouldn't budge. I've worn each of these shades for at least 8 hours on more than one occasion and I haven't had a problem with flaking off or glitter falling off onto my face. They just stay as they were when you first applied them. 

Packaging: The packaging falls right in line with Stila's overall aesthetic. If you're familiar with their eye shadow palettes, they are reminiscent of that. Gold plastic cap and a nice, solid plastic case hold the product. The doe foot applicator is the perfect size (and feels nice and cushy) to brush onto the lid or line your lash lines.
