A week before Valentine's Day I went on a binge for all things cute, girly, and pink. Designer labels also became a criteria and that's how I ended up with my first two Guerlain products.

First off, if you're looking for a purely glamorous, wildly feminine yet simultaneously classy, the bottle of this product will satisfy that need. One comment regarding the packaging here (aside from the fact that it's just so freakin' adorable is the plastic, clear part on the cap is not attached to the actual cap. There's a pink cap underneath so in order to use the product you essentially have to remove two caps. Other than that, the packaging is a winner. I'm unsure exactly what the bottle is made of, but it's not plastic (only the 2 caps are plastic). I think it's glass, it's definitely heavy and feels of good quality. You're not paying for cute packaging that's just plastic. It's definitely a nice display piece for your vanity.

Now onto the product. It's sticky. Like, put your lips together and pull them apart and you can see the skin slowly peel off of the other lip. Adding a gloss on top of the product helps, but alone, epic stickiness. Also, this is the COLDEST product I've ever put on my lips. Unless you keep your lip products in the freezer or something, it did take me by surprise. You'll feel a light tingling effect as the product begins to work on your lips, adapting to your skintone (see below description from Sephora.com):

"Once the fluorescent pink color comes out of the bottle, it transforms into a sheer shade once applied. Easy to blend in, its universal shade reacts to your skin’s pH to adapt to each skintone, bringing out your own, unique pink tone. Build its intensity depending on your mood, and go from fresh pink to more intense: the more you apply to your lips and cheeks, the deeper you'll go. One layer imparts an ultra-natural pink, and multiple layers leave an ultra-intense pink hue."

What this says to me is, "color may vary" which is pretty much true for all lip products. For me, the first layer provides a very sheer pink hue. One application really didn't show much so I didn't even document it, but after 2 and 3 layers the pink does start to pop.

While I bought this product specifically to wear on my lips, I did try it on my cheeks for a day for the sake of providing a full review. And personally, I hate it. Not because it's a bad product, I just hate liquid blushes. I tried one of those Tarte ones awhile back, the ones that look like they should be a lip balm but aren't (or pretty much any "stick" type of multi-purpose product nowadays) and it felt like I had taken Strawberry Chap-stick or something and just rubbed it on my cheeks. It had that sort of effect that you'd want on your lips if that makes any sense, like I had just drank raspberry juice or sucked on a red Popsicle, except on my cheeks. That's how all liquid blushes feel to me, and this Guerlain one is no different. So I'm probably not the best person to give feedback on any liquid blush.

Overall, this is a pure luxury buy. It's definitely one of those things where I don't need it, and I won't run out to re-purchase as soon as I run out, but when I have that urge to buy something a little more pricey and a little more glamorous, this will be on my list and wind up in my cart.
